Regulations & Orders

The detailed rules made under the Acts — regulations, orders, rules, notices and proclamations — newest first. Open one to see the law it is made under and where it was published.

An Act sets the framework; the regulations, orders and rules made under it fill in the detail — fees, forms, procedures, dates. A Proclamation is how an Act, or part of one, is brought into force. “S.I. 2026 No. 2” is the 2nd statutory instrument published in 2026.

The law each instrument is made under is read from the instrument’s own enabling words; where none is shown, the instrument does not state one. How to use this page

An Act is the law Parliament passes. Most Acts let a Minister or a public body make the detailed rules under them — Regulations, Orders, Rules, Notices and Directions. Each is published in the Official Gazette as a numbered Statutory Instrument (“S.I. 2026 No. 2” is the second of 2026) and is law from the day it says, usually the day of publication. A Proclamation is the instrument that brings an Act, or part of one, into force.

By year lists every instrument from 2009 to today, newest first. By law gathers them under the Act they were made under, so you can see everything made under, say, the Road Traffic Act. The 2008 edition holds the older Regulations, Rules and Orders as printed in the 2008 Revised Edition of the Laws.

Details ▾ opens the instrument itself where we hold it, the page of the Gazette that published it, and the Act it is made under. The search box finds a title, an S.I. number or an Act’s name.
